France has ferry coasts at both ends of the country. In the south, Marseille, Toulon and Nice connect to Corsica across the Mediterranean. In the north, Calais and the other Channel ports run the short, frequent crossings to England. Which coast you need depends entirely on where you are heading, so it helps to start from the destination rather than the nearest port.
